E'vesdar

Rise and Rise again, and again like The Phoenix from the ashes.
Until the Lambs have become Lions and the Rule of Darkness is no more

his untold story
E'vesdar was born to find his parents killed before he ever got the chance to know them. The only thing he remembers about that day are the deep, emerald green eyes of his mother gazing stonily at him with the cold, lifeless stare that only the dead possess, scaring him to death at the time. The sight sent a chill down his spine, and he ran in response. He galloped as mightily and as far as his pounding, small hooves would take him. Finally, cold and tired, he broke down in the middle of a field and lost conscious. He never saw his parents again. The next morning he woke up with the strength of a stallion, a stallion who had witnessed things most others could never understand. He was old before his time, but with a stronger resolve because of it.

The kingdom took him in and provided care for him, feeding him and making sure he had a place to sleep. Little did E'vesdar know he would have to repay it all two fold when he matured into a full grown stallion. Upon turning three, he was wakened early in the morning and told that he would be taken and trained to become one of the warriors of the kingdom. A marking was burned onto his shoulders and striped down his mane; he was taken away and kept there for another year. Not every stallion came back alive from where he had been led; he was lucky to be one of the few who survived the tribunal. When he returned, there was no trace of the previous worry stricken stallion he once was. His first and only task was protecting the kingdom, and he would kill to do so. He was determined to serve the royal family whatever the cost may be; he had nothing to lose and only a great kindness to repay. So, he went on missions and always returned the charming victor. Slaying others had never been easier to him, and it didn't take long before the King discovered his determination and talent. He was promoted to the elite personal guards of the King, soon to be the Captain of them all. Although he found no pleasure in life anymore, he enjoyed serving his duty; it made him feel as if he succeeded at something. He received more responsibilities with time and was put in charge of his own team of stallions whom he trained and educated to serve the King.

Among the responsibilities of ensuring safety for the royal family, E'vesdar also had to take care of the only daughter of the King. Her name was Lye'et, and she was a stuck up princess who loved to play with naïve stallions. She would later admit that she fell for the dark stallion, but she never told him during their time together. Eventually he became her personal guard and spent daily time with her. She discovered he wasn't one she would be able to seduce, and so they became friends. He loved spending time with her, although he felt bad for all the stallions she tricked into her game.
It was around that time that he ran into one of his old friends, Asgaroth. The two were both orphans and had grown up in the same area. They were not fortunate enough to be sent to the same camp to pay off their debts, but E'vesdar could see in the other stallion's eyes that he had undergone the same hell. They became friends again very easily. E'vesdar tried to ignore the dark and shady deals Asgaroth made, but it was never too far away from his thoughts. He felt bad for his friend and tried to get him into a nice position in his own team of guards. Asgaroth didn't wish to be led away from his dark life, though, and E'vesdar started to worry more and more. He could have never known then that his friend would betray him in the not so distant future.

Five years after his tragic birth E'vesdar had acquired a renowned status in the kingdom, though a status he did not care about at all. The only things he cared about was Lye'et, who felt like his sister, and Asgarothm who was the only one he really trusted. One day when Asgaroth returned after a mission, with one of the most beautiful mares he had ever seen, everything changed. The mare was named Diamante and had the most beautiful pair of eyes E'vesdar had ever seen. No mare –beautiful or not- had ever caught his attention before, and the sudden lust he felt when he looked at her overwhelmed him. She was the first and last mare he'd ever fall for, and she was the most dangerous and deceptive one he'd ever met. She was the beginning of all his problems, but he could not have foretold that then. He fell in love with her.
Because he was still property of the kingdom, E'vesdar had no time to care about Diamante, who soon entered into a relationship with Asgaroth. He simply let it be and tried to get her out of his mind. Asgaroth was a charming womanizer, and when he eventually met Lye'et, he was stunned by her beauty; she was sure to be his next victim. He didn't care what Diamante would think about it. As much as Asgaroth cared about Diamante, the extent of his feelings was not far-reaching. Diamante didn't care about the affair, but she felt an intense jealousy when Asgaroth told her that Lye'et was the most beautiful mare he had ever seen. An envy grew inside her and consumed everything she cared about; the only thing she wished for was destruction. She tried to seduce E'vesdar in an attempt to get back at Asgaroth.
E'vesdar was shocked by the sudden interest she showed for him, but he felt there was no genuine feelings and he rejected her. This fueled her anger even more, but he didn't mind - it was clear that she was just a pretty face working for her own benefits. In the meantime, Asgaroth became close friends with Lye'et, and E'vesdar looked on with a suspicious gaze. Although he trusted his friend, he knew about his shady ways and under the table deals. He wasn't sure if the naïve Lye'et should be involved with that. As her personal guard, he warned her away from the other stallion, but that backfired in his face. She told her father that E'vesdar had a crush on her had tried to seduce her. The King was understandably furious with E'vesdar, and put him in a difficult position. E'vesdar never really forgave her for that.

He maintained a safe distance from Lye'et and their friendship bled to death. He focused on his sole task: the safety of the royal family. The only thing he didn't know was that Asgaroth had bribed his team and that E'vesdar was on his own. When the dreadful night began that changed everything forever, he was with Lye'et. He was standing far away from her, watching her as she spoke to the stars. They walked through the endless garden of the Kingdom. When Asgaroth appeared with bad news, E'vesdar retreated and left her there in the grasp of his friend, assuming he would take care of her. He did take care of her, but in a completely different way than E'vesdar had imagined. That night the spirit of Lye'et broke. The arrogant princess was no more, and in her place was left a broken mare who carried the foal of Asgaroth, a foal conceived of hate and lust.
E'vesdar ran as fast as he could, his mind repeating the words of Asgaroth again and again. The Kingdom was under attack, guards had turned against the royals, and blood was being shed. From far off he could hear the screams, he could smell the scent of sweat and the sickening stench of blood. His legs carried him quickly into the cave of the royals and within seconds, fighting horses surrounded him. His team was there, but also shady figures he'd only seen with Asgaroth. The other stallion was nowhere to be seen, and the sickening thought that his friend had set this all up and used E'vesdar's powers to do so floored him. The stallions who weren't bribed by Asgaroth fought by E'vesdar's side, but were suspicious; they knew about the rumored incident with E'vesdar and Lye'et, and they no longer trusted him. Some even thought he was the one behind the sinister plan. E'vesdar didn't give up though; he galloped and fought as hard as he could, no matter who would fight with him. He had a task to fulfill, and he wouldn't stop until there was no cause to fight for anymore. He made his way through the carnage, helping his team despite that they didn't even trust him anymore. When he finally reached his King it was already too late. The silver eyes of Diamante pierced through his soul when she made the signal to slit the King's throat. The blood splattered upon the walls and left dark red stains on his coat. In shock, he stared at the mare who was once the object of his adoration. Torn between the feeling of betrayal and the sickening awareness that the blood of his King was dripping down his legs, he moved forward and broke her back, crushing his weight against her. Her tormented, but masochistic enjoyment was the last thing that was flashed in her eyes before she bled to death against that bloody wall. She was the first he had fallen in love with, and he slew her with a rush of anger. He felt sick and nauseous, so he turned and ran. The fighting had stopped and the stallions that were sent by Asgaroth laughed at him, tortured him by cursing at him, reminding him of how he had failed. He ran until he came to a place where they stood in his way; they were too many and he had no choice but to go with them. He remained a captive for months, maybe a year. They tortured him, leaving scars all over his emaciated body. They broke his soul to an extent that would never be repairable. When he finally escaped, there was nothing left he could live for.

He could barely walk when he was finally free. With just six years of experience, he had lived his whole life and lost all that he had ever cared about. He walked and slept, fed his withered and scarred body, and tried to regain some of his strength. When he was able to walk again, to start running, he tortured his body by pushing it beyond its limits. He galloped for days sometimes, his knees bleeding and his coat soaked in sweat. He loved the feeling of pain; it reminded him that he did not die that day, nor any of the days he underwent the torment of his captors.

The days were long and difficult and it took him months to mentally overcome that night, not that he ever fully did. He started to travel again, staying in some herds, but was bound to leave again when things got too serious. He was seven years old when he finally settled in a herd, a rather large one, that could easily take him in and would let him disappear. Although he tried his best at being invisible, there was one mare that saw him no matter what. With striking blue eyes she gazed at him, a soft gentle smile gracing her lips. Her intentions were very clear to him and he knew she wouldn't let him go easily, that she'd hunt him down and make him hers. He simply let her, for she was nice to him and told him stories about her family, about her life. She told him about the herd and showed him places he'd never seen before. She became a friend, although E'vesdar never opened up to her himself; he would never fall for a mare again. He played the part of a trustworthy companion and simply lived his life like that. He knew the others would be searching for him and that they would never suspect him to be starting a family. Issys, with her beautiful blue eyes and dark brown coat, fell in love with him and when time came, she asked him to give her a foal, to seal their relationship. He agreed and when E'vesdar turned seven, he had his firstborn: a son called O'delden, the spitting image of his father but with the fierce blue eyes of his mother. E'vesdar had never loved anyone so intensely as O'delden. He had never felt the love and company of family, and the feeling enchanted him. He began to consider opening up to Issys, not only playing his part but also meaning it. He learned the hard way that when you don't seize an opportunity when it presents itself that it passes you by.

Before O'delden even reached two years of age, nature took him away from E'vesdar. The young stallion was swallowed by a swamp, drowning, and E'vesdar could only watch and scream helplessly. His wrath was mighty, and the intense training he had to kill and fight took over him. With dark eyes and a stormy heart, he returned to tell Issys the bad news, breaking her heart as he did. E'vesdar could not handle seeing her like that and he blamed himself. His rage flamed by her accusations that he let his son die, he lost control of himself. An intense power he had never known he had came over him and a dark cat-like creature with E'vesdar's golden eyes appeared, clenching his claws deep inside Issys's coat. Driven by rage, the cat scratched her till she bled to death. A sudden calmness took over his mind, and when he saw his partner scrawled on the floor, he stared in disbelief. The cat-like creature with intense golden eyes, blood dripping from his claws, watched him while he tried to figure out what had happened. All of a sudden the cat vanished into thin air, and E'vesdar was left alone with the wilting body of Issys. He cleaned her wounds, took care of her until she found the courage to take life on again. When he thought they were making progress, she told him she wanted to leave him, that she never wanted to have anything to do with him again. Little did he know that she was carrying his second foal, a filly who would be named Nachtschade. E'vesdar left with a heavy heart and burned all the bridges that connected him to Issys. Issys carried his foal to term and raised her until she was two years old. The resemblances to her father grew to be too much, though, and Issys finally killed herself by consuming the toxic berries that Nachtschade was aptly named for, the deadly nightshade.
E'vesdar took up traveling again, roaming far and long, and trained his body till there was nothing left to train for anymore. He had a short-lived fling with a mare named Yrdaice, but she was the only one. He felt attracted to her, and finally gave into his longing for her body. He felt wrong for just wanting her physically, but it felt good to feel the warmth of a mare again. He soon left after that, afraid that he would mess up again if he stayed. Yrdaice raised their son, a beautiful colt named E'rayhon who looked much like his father, but with the palomino shades of his mother. E'vesdar would meet his son one day, and he'd never let him go.

He finally settled down in Blue Moon Horses, gazing at the herd from a distance. He found strength in the fact that the herd needed protection; if he was good at anything, it was guarding. And so he took on the position as Alpha from one of the areas; he fulfilled what was always his destiny; to protect and serve the ones who needed help. It took him two years before he was awarded with the coveted position of Emperor. He now lives here and hopes to die on the battlefield one day, there where his heart truly belongs.

Libertad

You can own the Earth and still, all you'll own is Earth until
you can paint with all the colors of the wind

his untold story
Libertad was the only foal born unto a happy, but average family. His father was the typical young stallion, ambitiously striking out from his herd in order to start a family of his own; while his mother, on the contrary, was in a word, a goddess. The divine mare was a glossy chestnut with stark white eyes. Majestic white wings struck up from her shoulders and rested upon her back. When she galloped upon sloping hills or wide, spacious plains, Libertad witnessed how she unfolded her wings and took flight, soaring up into the sky like an eagle. She could just as easily conceal her set of wings as well, though. As her son, Libertad was born with his own pair of magnificent wings, but never learned how to hide them.

His mother disappeared after his second birthday, but he never blamed her for her actions, for he knew she loved him dearly. Libertad's father, left alone to take care of the cold, was unsure about Libertad. No new bachelors or mares would want to be in his herd with a creature like the winged yearling, for he was seen as a monster. So, his father led him away from the others one day, and then he explained why his son would have to depart from his home forever. Libertad looked back upon that day and never blamed his father, he understood his position, but still it broke his young heart.
On his own Libertad attempted to survive as any bachelor first heading off into the wild would, but it was proved more difficult for him especially. The bright coloring of his coat was too conspicuous in contrast to the dark, surrounding landscape; humans hunted him for his wings and coat. As a stallion, he was desirable for breeding purposes. The humans hoped to have more winged horses as a result of his capture. In the end, it wasn't the cowboys who captured the pale stallion – instead the people who worked the land and treated all beasts and life with care discovered him, the Indians. They never tamed his wild spirit, for they were unable to. Every so often there were some horses suck as Libertad who could never be tamed. Those horses were regarded with much awe and respect for their courage and heart. People from all around would travel to come see the winged stallion. Those people did not care for Libertad's heart or spirit, they simply wished to gawk at his regal set of wings. Libertad grew angry and aggressive towards the crowds that appeared to stare at him, and finally the Indians were forced to tie him up in order to keep him under as much control as they could manage. Libertad lost his will to fight back once he lost the freedom to roam about as he pleased. He felt a complete loss of hope, and finally he simply lay down on the ground, his spirit broken at last.

In the village of the Indians, there was a little girl that happened to see the pale stallion laying in the dust one day. She felt sorry for the noble beast whom all the Indians had spoken fondly of for his spirit; looking at him then, she felt like they had done him a great injustice for his courage. She wandered up to the tied stallion, and when he put up no fight against her, she started to brush his mane. She came to see him every day, treating him as her own, with love and tenderness She brought him apples and carrots, and other sweet herbs the tribe had gathered in their wanderings, and she would stroke his coat until it shimmered underneath the sun. Libertad hadn't felt such affection since his father and he had parted ways so many years ago, so he let the girl continue on, slowly finding a small bit of happiness in her company.
Three years went by like that, the girl visiting the noble, winged stallion with the pale coat that was rare among the wild horses. Libertad grew into a strong, healthy stallion while the girl grew into young woman. She knew many different things, as she was training to become her tribe's next shaman. One day, she eventually succeeding in teaching Libertad how to hide his wings. After that, he was no longer other than for his rare coat, so the other Indians and large crowds ceased to show up in order to gaze at his wonder. The Indians kept him for his strong body, though, as he could sire strong and beautiful foals for the tribe to ride into battle and keep as companions. Libertad was still too aggressive toward other humans besides his one trusted friend, the girl, to let them come close, so eventually they finally left him alone. The girl continued visiting him, though. He still remembers the last time she came to him with tears streaming down her face, the whole town consumed in raging flames in the distance. Libertad couldn't place the sound of the weapons, he had never heard those, but the clashing sound of battle rang out in the background. The girl told him to run, run for his life, and so he turned and left the place that had become his home for the last time. The whole village died that day, and Libertad never saw the girl again. He was forever in her debt, though, and would never forget her. He left the place he'd spent the majority of his life in, and galloped as far as he as his hooves would carry him, away from all the desolation and carnage behind him.

Libertad travelled far and never stayed long in one place. In his journeying, he met a stallion named Thowra and they soon became friends, traveling together and enjoying the companionship. Libertad never divulged his hard past or the loss of his best friend, but it felt good to have someone he could trust. They settled for a year in a herd where he met a mare by the name of Flor and she enchanted him like no mare ever had before. He fell in love, the kind of love that consumes one's entire essence. He had no time or interest in anything other than her. He lost track of Thowra and they eventually parted ways. He started a new life with Flor, but he still he never shared his terrible past or revealed his coveted wings. They were happy together and begot two strong foals: Brisa and Viva la Vida. Brisa was born just after Libertad discovered that Flor had been cheating on him, though, and he was heart broken. He left, taking his newborn daughter with Brisa. Viva la Vida was a full grown stallion at that point, and had left already. Libertard travelled the land as he had when he first had struck out on his own, and ran into Thowra again. Libertad never really processed the loss of Flor or her cheating, and so he never opened his heart to another mare again. He took care of Brisa and raised her to be clever and intelligent young mare. He settled in Blue Moon Horses where he shortly took on the position of a leader, but he somehow never felt right; he didn't like living with the secret of his wings. So, one day he went 'undercover' and lived in solitude.

You can do whatever you want. If you need colors, I think something fiery would work for Sabel, and something icy for Vestain. :3
