[ENG] listen with your heart, you will understand Adelheid
Adelheid

Let it crash upon you,
like a wave upon the sand

He was not built for short tracks, his body would be tired within moments and his lungs would hunger for some air. That was probably the reason why he did it.. he wanted to run, as far as he could, as far away from his past. But it haunted him, like it had always done in the past. He always takes the wrong turn and winds up somewhere where his fears haunt him and he has to run, as fast and far away as he can. Maybe he had made wrong choices in the past but he was long done paying for his mistakes, he had enough of the nightmares. His head pounds against his skull like a drum, making a headache that probably wouldn't go away for the next couple of days. Cursing with just making some small movements with his lips he gallops farther and farther.
He would probably break down within minutes, causing his knees to fall in the light sand, ripping open the flesh of his knees. He flicks his head backwards and throws his front feet high in the air, he bucks while jumping and lands with some noise. Water splashes up against his body and welcome him in the fresh and cold water that easily makes him feel energetic again.
He lowers his head, not knowing what came over him, or what he should have done when the nightmares showed up in his memories once again. He felt broken and lost, the last part of him dying while the world around him moves in a quicker pace, leaving him behind in his dark and moody past. A sigh leaves his lips while he stares at the soft foamy waves rolling over the sandy white beach. He should be happy, he lived while she didn't.

Time goes by, maybe minutes, maybe hours. But when he looks up again the sun is low and another horse has accompanied him. His gaze quickly take in her appearance; she was different, and not just for her odd colors, no she had such a sad look that he knew so well; he wears it all the time. Not knowing what the procedures for social contact are these days he just stands there, his cold blue eyes sticking on her coat and his muscles trebling under his shiny fur. With that harsh look in his eyes and a body that's tensed from his hind-quarters till his strong arched neck, he could make quite an appearance, he had the tendency to scare away all the living beings in his surroundings, maybe she was a exception; she was longer around him than anyone has been for the last couple of months. With that thought in mind he looses up a little bit, his eyes still on the curvy lines of her small body. It crosses his mind that he had be silently staring at her for the last couple of minutes and decides to at least say something. Little did he know that his former warm and friendly voice would be so rough and painful to hear. Another gift of his past; the scarring around his neck, he could've lost his voice, but he didn't although it didn't make a big differnce; his voice was rough and astringent. But at least he could talk, although he had none to talk to, but he'd take his change with this mare, maybe she wouldn't run away.
'What did I do to deserve such beauty around me?' His voice rough and shaky, although the deep sound of a stallion is somewhere beneath it, warm as honey. Maybe he needed some time, maybe his voice would come back, maybe.

OOC: Only for Sabel, so I am having a hard time figuring him out, so please bare with me!

No dreams within her heart, but dreams of love
rank two Sabel

The beach was shrouded in a morning mist, clouded and foggy. To the naked eye, things only a few feet away were indiscernible, causing Sabel to have to trod slowly, with her head angled downward to see as much as possible. She blinked mournfully, her thoughts swirling in a downward spiral, taking her spirit into unreachable depths with them. She was alone, for the most part, in a new land, accepted at least, but ultimately all alone. The people she'd met all had others they could return to, once they had said their farewells and parted ways. Theron had a family to love, Templed had disappeared, Elibrae was playful, but had also seemed to simply vanish, and...well, the one she was most in despair over seemed to have others to return to as well. And here she was, left solely to her herself. Perhaps, she was more accepted here, not shunned and looked upon as an outcast with a curse to be despised, but she was still somewhat of an other. She was beautiful, and it seemed that would always be her curse. The others maintained the mantra of look but do not touch in regard to her, and she was beginning to feel it seep into her bones with a bitter tinge. She simply wanted too much, she told herself. It was too much for her to expect anyone to love her for all that she was and all that she was not. Friends were slightly easier to obtain, but there was so much less required of a friend...and that was why she should stop hoping for anything more. Nobody wanted to give anything more to someone like her.
Sabel drew her noble neck up, and squinted as she peered ahead of her. She could hear the sounds of splashing in the waves just off shore, of hooves beating upon undersea sand. The mist parted as if by divine intervention just enough to grant her the sight of a stallion, a steely grey color with darkness etching upon his legs and face, romping recklessly through the surf. She tilted her head as she watched him, an interloper upon what he probably assumed was a private moment. He played on, but then he suddenly stopped, looking a bit winded and out of breath as he stares at his reflection in the water, stilling now that he let it settle. What was running through his head, she wondered intrigued. At one moment he had seemed a colt again, frolicking and carefree, but now he seemed old and weary, full of regret and melancholy. He was fighting off sadness just as she was, she realized. Well, that made two of them, she thought grimly. Not that anyone else would really care.
The stallion's noble face rose and caught her gaze, sending a shiver of panic down Sabel's spine as she was caught staring. She inhaled sharply, taking a step back instinctively. The fog was so dense that she did not think the other horse had been able to see her guilty response, though, for he simply stared at her. She was not sure what to do. She would have expected him to chase her off for spying, but he made no move in any direction whatsoever, and she was somehow held captive by his gaze. His eyes were ice blue, cold like the sea in the winter, and yet there seemed to be a warmth lurking just below the sheet of ice. She was embarrassed as his gaze penetrated right through her own and, she felt, right into her soul. She was beginning to think she should simply utter an apology and then turn and shamble on, leave him to his privacy and whatever thoughts were haunting that keen visage of his, but as she gathered her will to do just that, his lips parted and he spoke. There was a noticeable rasp to the voice, as if he hadn't deemed anyone worth speaking to in a while, and Sabel's ears flicked forward to hear his words over the sounds of the ocean and that rasp. It was a compliment? That was unexpected, indeed. Why he hadn't asked what she was doing, she would never know. Her better judgement abandoned her, and she felt a smile spread across her lips in return before she could stop herself. 'The ocean is indeed beautiful, though I don't know if anyone truly deserves her touch as much as we yearn for it.' She knew he had been talking about her, but well, turning it away from her was always a safe route to take, she had found. And for some reason she didn't want this one to grow tired of her, or think that she was caught up in her own looks.

All those sleepless nights, and all those wasted days

[ENG] listen with your heart, you will understand Adelheid
Adelheid

Let it crash upon you,
like a wave upon the sand

He knew she had been staring, but for someone who always lurked from the darkness and never spoke a word; who was he to judge? So he didn't, he just stood there and waited for her answer, and when it came he grins. She was smart. 'I was more thinking about my own beautiful blue and muscled body, but you're right, the ocean is one beautiful thing indeed' His voice rasp and painful, his throat soar, and still he was in a good mood. He flicks his head and a teasing grin takes over his lips. From the corner of his eye he looks at her and takes in her beauty as well as her sadness. She longed for acceptance and love, she wanted to be loved and treasured as the most high valued thing a stallion could possess; a loving mare. He never had a love, he never knew how it felt, his parents hadn't given it to him, and his sister didn't either. She did, but she died.
When she crosses his mind he falls back in despair and his gaze flows to the clouds and he couldn't help but wondering if she would be up in the sky and thinking about him like he thought about her. She shouldn't have died, he should've been there for her, but he was a weakling, he ran away when she needed him most. He paid for his mistake, and now he was begging for forgiveness that he would never get again, she passed away and she took his last change of redemption with her. A sigh leaves his lips, barely audible in the fierce roar of the waves.

There was no time to think about the past, there was no time to get lost in the fragments of past time and ponder how things should've been, how live would've turn out if he took the other path. His striking blue eyes follow the soft curve of her neck and her long legs, she was gorgeous. She was the absolute dream of a stallion as himself, and still he knew that beauty did not always come in hand. Before he became old and torn apart with past time, and cut open with hideous scars, he was a handsome stallion himself. He was adored by mares, but none ever got his attention, maybe he was arrogant like they said but how longer he listened to their ongoing gossip about him he felt more and more alone. Being beautiful on the outside mostly gives a loneliness that many do not know about, some won't talk to you because they think you're arrogant, or that they are not worthy. You'll be judged when you stand out, and the ones that are judged most mostly stand alone.
'Adelheid, a fellow outcast as yourself' He grins.

No dreams within her heart, but dreams of love
rank two Sabel

He was charming, she noted not with disappointment. His reaction to her own coyness made her chuckle quietly, probably too softly for him to be able to hear over the waves, but she did nonetheless. He was handsome, she agreed as she silently took him in once more. He was muscled, as he had claimed, no doubt from whatever harsh life before had also granted him the slight marring and scars that traced his body every so often. Some might not appreciate those battle scars, might think them ugly and an unfortunate mark upon this stallion's otherwise beautifully molded body; Sabel was not among those horses. She took in his wear and tear and found it to be glorifying. This stallion had fought, had stood up for something he believed in before. They told a history, a shrouded one she did not know, but they whispered of it even so. Her smile graced her lips constantly as she gazed and pondered about him. She had never really seen anyone so easy to look at before, other than her friend E'vesdar, but even he seemed a bit bereft of the rugged rogue persona this stallion seemed to possess. A whole different look overtook him for a second, though, a gripping sadness that she had seen hints of just moments before, but much more tangible now.
Something from his past was no doubt troubling him; she could understand that. She felt the same way, about all of her past, though. There wasn't even a part of her history that lasted more than a small while that she could think back on warmly. It was also haunted and tainted by darkness and despair. It seemed every body had some tragic past trailing their footsteps these days, she noted. Would there ever be a time when what she thought and did was not focused on what had happened to her in the past? Would she ever really be able to enjoy the present, or be able to seize a brighter future? She barely ever dared to think about such things, as her past never left her alone long enough to enjoy either. Her shadow, almost. That was what her past was. It was the shadow that trailed along beside her no matter where she ventured, and only seemed to vanish for brief periods of time. It was so easy to get lost in those same old lyrics to the same ages old song of her life. She had heard it so many times she practically had it memorized, the tune and notes and all. She longed to learn a new tune, but whenever she thought she had heard one, it only faded off into the distance to be replaced by the familiar one.
She refocused on the present as she saw that he had done the same, breaking free from the grasp of whatever was haunting him. In and out of the present seemed to be the way they both functioned, it would seem. His name sounded prettily, hanging in the air with a sweet ring long after he'd pronounced it. Adelheid, a champion's name. Strong and resolute. And he could tell she was an outcast, from fellow understanding...or perhaps she was simply that obvious. She smiled softly in response, hoping for the latter. 'Tis a charming name, for a handsome stallion such as yourself. My own will ring hollow in comparison, but here it is: Sabel.' She followed his gaze and peered up at the sky, bright despite the enveloping mist that shrouded everything in a foggy veil. Rays of sunlight seemed to poke through the clouds, determined to shed more light upon the waters, but in vain. She breathed out, wishing the sun would wash over her with its warmth, but receiving nothing other than a cool breeze whipping up her overly long hair, sending it in a torrent around her neck and withers. She lowered her gaze and smirked gently. 'It's a bit ironic that us so called outcasts should meet. Outcasts supposing to be loners and all.'

[ENG] listen with your heart, you will understand Adelheid
Adelheid

Let it crash upon you,
like a wave upon the sand

It wasn't as clear ar she probably thought it was, but that sad and lonely look in her eyes gave away that she was doomed to be a loner, as himself. Not that there was anything wrong with that, for years he had deliberly chosen for a lonely life. He loved the solitude and never having to justify any of his actions, it was him and the watchful eye of mother nature. He had always loved to travel and leave everyone behind, there were no longer strings attached to his past, he was a free wandering soul that made his path while he roamed. Still the lonely life had it's negative sides, sometimes he longed for a companion so the thoughts and nightmares would stop from flooding his mind.
'Tis a charming name, for a handsome stallion such as yourself. My own will ring hollow in comparison, but here it is: Sabel.' He smiles gracefully, thankful for the compliment; he hadn't heard one in years that was directed at him. 'It think Sabel sounds like an intriguing and mysterious mare with the most gorgeous eyes I've ever seen' although his voice sounds the same as the rough waves of the sea he had a charming and disarming smile that made up for the awful sound. His eyes follow the natural flow of her dark brown mane. The single strings of hair tangle into each other and pendulate with a reddish shine into the soft sea breeze. Every little detail; from her warm colored coat till her beautiful black outlined eyes with long sensual lashes, every little detail gets a place in his memory. He wouldn't easily forget a mare like her again, and he wanted to make sure he never did. Her beautiful soft sining coat and that sweet yet shy smile around her delicately shaped lips.

Maybe he had been a little abundant with his compliments but she surely left an impression, and not just for her extra-ordinary marking. No he loved how she quickly glanced away when he made a compliment or he caught her staring. She was no conceited person, she felt real and maybe worth the try of a normal conversation.
'It's a bit ironic that us so called outcasts should meet. Outcasts supposing to be loners and all.' A laugh leaves his lips, rasp and sharp like the wind, cutting into his blueish coat. 'Maybe it's just a trick life plays on us, or maybe it's a sigh that it's not healthy for a young mare to be all by herself' His grin fades and his cold blue eyes turned serious and hard for a moment, he knew like no one else how it was to be along. 'Would you mind walking with me along shore? I got no where to go, and it doesn't feel right to let you go in the middle of the night'

No dreams within her heart, but dreams of love
rank two Sabel

Gazing up at the star-littered sky made Sabel feel small and insignificant, as if her problems could never compare to the vastness of the unknown that was above and all around her. It was one of those rare moments when she felt as if she could step out of her skin and exist purely in spirit and leave her flesh behind. It was a fleeting feeling though, and she was brought back down to the earth beneath her at the rasp of the stallion's voice chiming in her ears. It was oddly beautiful, his voice, the way it sounded rough and grating, but yet still rang in a musical quality, charm easing into each word to wrap it in a sweet embrace. His voice was husky, masculine, and something about it was enticing, Sabel noted. She felt her insides dance in response to that deep rasp, and her eyes danced appreciatively. 'Life does so enjoy playing her tricks with us.' She commented absently, utterly distracted by the physical presence of Adelheid. For the moment, he could say just about anything and all she'd be able to do was stare greedily, but blush the next instant when he caught her.
She knew he was showering her with comments, but they were in one ear and out the other for the most part. She appreciated his attention, almost as much as she had E'vesdar's, but something still nagged at her and caused her to ignore the compliments. She walked a few paces off, into the surf so that the waves curled around her thin legs and cooled her tendons. She closed her eyes, feeling the wind in her mane, the water against her coat, smelling the salt rise up to her nostrils, and then the spiced male scent of the stallion nearby. He was literally encompassing all her senses, and it was a bit overwhelming. Why was she so strongly affected by him? It was as if he were pulling her toward him with some unseen force, a magnetism she had never know. It was unnerving. She stepped further away, unsure of herself. He spoke again, and she hesitated at his offer. She'd agreed to walk along the shore with E'vesdar before. They had been along the coast a bit further down than where she was now, but the memory flooded back all the same. That walk had ended with an agreed friendship, a friend, and although she should be pleased about that, she had wanted more. Secretly, but the desire had been there all the same. And now here she was feeling those same emotions again, and he proposed the same walk. Would it also end in disappointment, a lacking compromise? She was afraid of that possibility, and yet she knew she had no right to want so much. It all too similar, too much of the same...she didn't want the same. She wanted more, and it was tearing her apart.
She opened her eyes, blinking in the moonlight, but slowly sighing as she did. She fluidly arched her neck and peered at the other stallion again. Loners the both of them, but somehow they had stumbled upon each other. Was it fate or coincidence? 'I never gave much thought to what was healthy, and thus I have been alone all my life.' She replied soberly, her words tinged with the sadness and hurt that they implied. It was a haunting statement that hung hollow in the air for several moments after she'd said it. It was all she could do not to break down and crumble into the sea, let the waves wash over and take her away...She almost did. She had been holding her sadness back for so long, and it was bursting free all at once. 'I've never had anywhere to go...no one to go to. It was all I ever wanted... She broke off and thrust her face away from sight. She could feel a silent tear prick at the corner of now dim eyes, but she felt ashamed. She was so lost.

Adelheid

Let it crash upon you,

The longer she speaks, the sadder her beautiful warm eyes look. He feels a shiver go down his spine, this beautiful mare was hurt by rejections in the past. He had known from his first glance at her that she was a lone soul like himself, but he could never have guessed how hurt she was. When her soft melodious voice breaks while she talks he softly brushes his nose against her shoulder. It was just a small touch, just to let her know that it was no bad thing to get it out of her system. He smiles gently at her, trying to comfort her in some way. 'We all long for someone to cherish us like we are there most worthy treasure' His cold blue eyes wander across her face and take in every breathtaking detail of this mare. 'Sabel..-' Her name tasted sweet and fresh on his tongue, like the first days of spring. 'Come walk with me, tonight you have somewhere to go. Tonight you are coming with me' His lips are curled into a grin, a charming but dark grin that showed a bit of boyish entusiasm.

*Oh, I don't think you have to worry about that. ;]
Blinking, she banished her sorrow away and told herself she was being silly. She breathed in, letting the salty air shoot through her veins like a drug numbing the pain. She closed her eyes a few moments, calming herself, sorting through her thoughts. Releasing some of her pent up regrets and hurts felt liberating, most likely because it was long overdue. Things seemed to have been stacking up one after the over for so long that she finally had to break. She was strong, but nobody was that strong, even if she liked to think she could be. She opened her eyes again and swung her noble neck around, feeling the soft caress of Adelheid's nuzzle, and smiled. She tried to ignore the flutter it sent through her body, but the warmth that spread was like a balm to her sorrow. She felt the worry and sadness fleet away, receding into the dark recesses of her soul to lurk and hide, lingering ever still but absolved for the moment. She'd never been able to feel better so quickly before, not without having to mentally work at it for some time. She felt her smile brighten in response, blinking as she surprised herself. This was so strange and foreign to her, not because she didn't recognize the fluttering or nervousness, but because this one seemed different. His eyes shined a blue promise in the making, and it was disconcerting, putting her off her guard.
His words made her breath catch in her delicate throat, and she threw her head back, tossing her mane in the process, in an attempt to gain a moment to think on it. She shouldn't agree, she knew. She should turn and walk away, whisper a sweet farewell and politely apologize. The risk of losing herself again was just too great, and she knew now that she always expected more than what others mutually wanted. What could she ever offer? She would only end up broken once more, and she wasn't sure how much more of it she could take. She was far too trusting, but those eyes...She blinked once more, stunned by their brilliance and sincerity. Behind it all there was a effervescent playfulness, calling out to her, promising things she should no better than to believe. Oh, but did she dare tempt fate? Did she dare disturb the universe? Tonight, despite all rationale, she thought she just might. A hesitant smile blooms upon her lips, her eyes flickering into life again. 'What a charming rogue, you are. I think I would like that.' She stepped toward him, tenderly traced a line along his neck with her muzzle, slow and tantalizing, letting out a whuff of warm air as she did. Then she simply withdrew and sauntered past him, walking past his blue roan body and smiling as the moon illuminated her as the waves rolled upon her dainty legs, a proud smirk gracing her visage as she did.

Adelheid

Let it crash upon you,
like a wave upon the sand

She hesitated and that broke his heart, somehow he had thought that she would take up his offer without further thought. Maybe because he was desperate for some company, and he assumed she was too, but it didn't seem so. Eventually she agreed but by then Adel his thoughts were like a whirlwind and he couldn't discover why he assumed that she was alone. He was so busy trying to figure out why she she was so sad looking that he forgot that she might not be alone at all. Yet he tries to let his thought go, let them fly away with the salty sea breeze. His long black mane takes flight and tangles into each other, the soft waves of black hair caressing his blueish neck.
A sigh leaves his lips, white strings of mist leaving his nostrils. The cold sea breeze causes a shiver down his spine, although he liked the sea it wasn't his favorite place. He enjoyed the plains like nothing else, that was his homes, that was where he was born, that was the place where he had trained in the near past, it was the place where everything came to an end. It was his home.
The thought that Sabel wasn't all by herself somehow comforted and scared him, to find someone who has been through the same lonely life as his was amazing, but it scared him that someone could take her away from him if she's in a relationship. Maybe it had been the reason for her hesitation, maybe his compliments were all wrong because she already had a stallion that she loved and cherished. He wasn't one to be insecure and yet he was lost in thoughts and wondering if his intentions where right.

He raises his head and flicks his long black mane backwards, his cold blue eyes gazing at her for a second. He couldn't get over het beauty, she was absolutely the most gorgeous mare he had ever laid eyes upon. Her words where complimenting and caused a charming smile across his scarred lips. The warmth of her body takes over his when she steps closer and caresses his skin with her velvet nose. Her warm breath caresses his neck and a shiver goes down his spine. A grin graces his lips as he trots away, following her long black tail. 'I like you' He grins softly.

No dreams within her heart, but dreams of love
rank two Sabel

The waves were liberating after the flames and fire of the other night, cold and refreshing, a reminder that life would always go on. She wondered what would happen next in her life, whether or not it would be good. She trotted along, her tail and mane billowing in the wind majestically as she moved with the graceful ease of one who knows everything about their body, its strengths and weaknesses, its capability to seduce...She was no seductress, though. She sure tried to be sometimes, but she knew she was truly most comfortable when she allowed the adrenaline of the gallop to possess her body and soul, when could feel the wind rush into her lungs, fill her up, and then escape in whuff as she pounded onward, repeating the cycle over and over again. She was a sprinter, the fastest at short distances, and the longer she went on the more tired she would be afterwards. That was why she only allowed herself a trot at present - it had been a long night, and now she didn't need more reason to be tired. She wanted she to be able to appreciate the stallion with her with all of her senses fully aware.
The sun was peeking up above the fading horizon line in the distance, hovering above the calmer outline of the sea. The sky was blushing pink and orange, a soft purple transfixing itself in the mix of morning as well. In the light, her coat shone and radiated, glowing in response to the golden gleam. She turned and admired how the blue roan sparkled darkly in contrast to the lightness around him. At night he had been a mysterious shadow charming and elusive; in morning's light he seemed to be a glowing raincloud, carrying some hidden darkness within him but shining all the same. He was handsome in any light, she admitted to herself at once. The scars along his body were illuminated now, though, and it caused her to wonder what he had been through. Everybody had a past, and she longed to hear some of his.
'I could gaze at you all day and be perfectly entertained,' She called over her shoulder, feeling quite witty as she did so, 'But, I'm afraid that would be all too boring for you on the other hand. So, tell me about yourself; I am intrigued by you.' She tacked on a flirtatious smile when she had finished, hoping it would lend aid in convincing him to open up to her. She was dying to know who this stallion really was, for something spoke to her and whispered promises of him being different, special even.
