Selfhood

Giselle found herself as a beautiful young filly living in a world of agony. She has never felt real emotions such as distress and damage which are common in her new kind of life story . She dreams of turning back the time, saving the one she was related to and live happily ever after. But nothing can change what life takes, nor what the decision of life may be.

When she entered this new chapter of her essence, her experiences in a world of sorrow and guilt made her blind and naïve, whereby she lost the sense of speaking. But, despite her inner war, she still retains her innocence, optimism and kind nature to the outside world. Consistently, she can also be very kittenish and most of the time you can describe her as a very independent little thing who is true to her lineage.

Ancient Times

“I can remember it so clearly. Their faces. So mean, so awful. Distasteful grunts they would subconsciously make as they would beat my frail body.” Giselle was born to find herself living the perfect life despite that she opened her eyes for the first time in a meager place. She wasn’t royal, nor wealthy but she just loved her home. She didn’t need food when she could achieve love, she didn’t need affluence, when all she got was wisdom. No, the time Giselle lived in her heartland she felt blessed.

Unfortunately, when Gis became six months, her mother died. The herd was distressed by an awful disease and only a few had survived the tragedy. Giselle was one of them. she wasn’t sure she should be relieved or sad. She was alive, but was it all worth the pain and sorrow to leave everyone she loved behind? For months, the little mare strolled around, looking for a new home. During her quest, she became unusually skinny, each bone in her body was there to see; like a dead man walking Giselle eventually fainted. It took a long time before she had the strength to open her eyes again. She never knew what really happened to her that day, but when she became conscious that day she found herself lying in the middle of a new home. Another herd had found the little creature and they brought her with them. Giselle largely grew up in this herd, she gain strength and became more beautiful than ever.

Giselle was now known as the Alpha daughter of the herd with a bigger family tree than she ever could imagine. Her new ‘parents’ had one sister named Shre’lay, who was kind of the same age as Gis was. She was more the seducing type of the two; very beautiful with a ton of naïve stallions drooling behind her when she came by. Giselle had never understood how pathetic some individuals were. Didn’t they realized that she was just playing a game ? Apart from that fact, Giselle and Shre’lay were very good friends. They were always together that most members of the herd called them ‘the beloved twin’. But like every other fairytale, this one also didn’t last long. Shre’lay noticed that Giselle became more beautiful, more powerful and most of all, she noticed that a lot of her naïve stallions became more interested in Giselle. Jealousy, Shre’lay felt furious, she thought that power and wealth were way more important than her friendship with Gis, so she devised a plan to get rid of her.

A few days later Shre'lay had invited Giselle out for a walk. The goal of the diabolical idea of the mare was that Giselle accidentally would fell off a cliff. An accident, it would have been. A tragic accident that nobody could have changed. However, the story turned out differently. It was very rainy that day, the road was slippery and you could not really look ahead of you. If the lightning wasn’t there that day, nor that tree was stamped at that day, Giselle had never lost her voice and Shre'lay was still alive. Giselle knew it wasn’t her fault that the tree broke off and fell down right on Shre’lay, but the fact that she froze and didn’t shout a single word made her collapse. Again, she lost the sense of speaking. She ran away from the herd and never spoke again.

She finally settled down in Blue Moon Horses, watching the herd as a silent little lamb.

Silent little lamb

Frustration was evident in the drop of her hooves as they clipped into the ground, and even more so by her narrowed charcoal stare. It was as if she was daring anything to distract her from it, or challenging the trees, the earth, sun, or sky to change her mind on the issue. Nothing could, not the beautiful golden, and red hue of the trees, a blue cut sky, or the crisp air of Blue moon. A swish of her darker locks to her hip, her teeth ground once in a horrible manner to stop her damned thoughts. If only there was a hole where her heart was. The fickle thing it was, life would be much simpler if she was en empty void. Silent curses were ushered in her breath, because she was hell bent to come out of this state.

The further she traveled from the familiar forest the easier the trip became. Her rigid body began to relax, each stride more fluid with the grace she possessed. It was with the changing of scenery she started taking in the world around her instead of the one crushing her brain. Giselle was not only admiring the beauty, she was also attentively watching for danger, for the enemy.

A rushed snort, she pushed her weathered body onward. There was something driving her forward, and she was a bit hesitating to find out what or who. Eyes scoping the trees, trying to be on the look out. Her ears were quick to snap back, and forward. She would head in one direction, she would quickly shift to the other. The death of Shre had made her a bit more paranoid once again, so she ran from anything she didn't knew.
